What is
Neighborhood Watch?

Neighborhood Watch is a program made up of neighbors working together with law enforcement to reduce crime
in their neighborhoods. Through regular meetings, members can discuss common concerns with each other. By
recognizing and reporting suspicious activities, they help to prevent crime in their neighborhoods.

Everyone in the community guards the safety of the block

Block Captains

Responsible for establishing
communication amongst
Neighborhood Watch members.
Act as the liaison between
neighborhood and OCSD.

Members

Proactively report crime and
suspicious activity. Act as
ambassadors for neighborhood
by recruiting and encouraging
participation.

Having additional “eyes and ears” in
your neighborhood, decreased
crime rates, and increased
communication between
neighborhood and law enforcement.

When Should
You Call for a
Deputy?

Deputies should be called during any type of activity or
circumstance that seems unusual or out of the
ordinary; this includes crimes in progress.
